Terry told me to introduce myself here, so here I am! My name's Jessie (just Jessie, not Jessica, I got into a shouting match with a teacher over this once. "No one name's their child just Jessie, Ms. Drake" well it's MY name and I chose it and it's NOT JESSICA and also who still calls their students Ms./Mr.? It was a small town public high school in the late 2010s, not a boarding school in the fifties), and I guess I live here now? I'm still not sure how that happened but man I'm going to save a FORTUNE on campus housing.

Hmn, what else... oh I'm a mutant, but I think everyone here is so that's not really newsworthy. I can't really do anything too flashy, I just change things on my body - like hair color, eye color, little things like that. So if you see me and suddenly my hair is the same color as yours, I swear I'm not making fun of you or anything, sometimes I just see something and think OH PRETTY and then my body decides it also wants to have that thing. I also have a bunch of tattoos that I can kind of move around, so if I want to just have one tattoo on my arm for a day or something, I can. I can't give myself new tattoos though which is a shame because that would be another small fortune I could save (I make up for that with never having to buy hair dye though).

I'm so bad at introductions idk, ask me questions! I know there are a lot of people here, I want to meet EVERYONE.

This is interesting.

How voluntary/intentional is your shifting? Is it only cosmetic, or can you effect deeper changes to muscle mass, skeletal shape, etc? What about cartilage, for example ear and nose shape?

Hi! As far as I know it's just cosmetic, but I've never really tried to do more because what if I get stuck? I can change my ear and nose shapes to a point - idk how to explain it, though, I can't give myself cat ears for example (damn shame), but like... you know when people see a friend's kid and their like "aaawww he has your nose" or whatever? I had my dad's ears and nose. Now I have mom's.

It's... mostly voluntary? It happens involuntarily sometimes, but I can change things on my own. Hair is the easiest example - my natural color is blonde, but if I decide I want to have blue hair for a day, then bam, I've got blue hair. Everything resets when I go to bed though, so part of my morning routine is "okay let's tweak that nose, change the eye shape a little bit..." and so on.

So you revert every night? This implies a default state. What if you get sick or injured? Is the form you revert to the one that had your father's features or your mother's?

I'm also working on cat ears. We should compare notes.

Oooooh favorite tattoo is hard. I think the Failsafe symbol from She-Ra, but also I really like all my butterflies. I have four - one big one on my shoulder blade usually in the colors of the trans flag, and three smaller ones on in the inner crook of my elbow. Each one of those is a different Pride flag. Yeah I think my butterflies take the number one spot lol

Another shapeshifter, huh? Very cool power. There are a few here, but Kevin Sydney is probably your best option for training, but Sharon (who I see has already introduced herself) and April Parker are closer to your age and also shift. The three of you might be able to work together and help each other out. :)

Do you have any food allergies or strong dislikes? Terry and I do a fair bit of batch cooking so folks have easy things to eat, and we try to make sure there are at least a few options to cover most anyone living here.

Hi Darcy! No food allergies that I know of, but if you ever want help cooking, I can... well, hand you things. My mom gave up on teaching me to cook after I ruined that third pot (I also almost burned down the house so it was in all of our best interests)

Oh gracious. No worries, we can teach you some basics if you want to learn though. And you might get pulled in for chopping/grabbing/sticking it in the dishwasher duty if you're around while we're cooking, fair warning. :)

I also have cats, if you'd like to meet them. Crooks is an old man, and Toothless and Lightning McQueen are technically a timeshare with Sharon. They're still babies.
